Our Deepest Sympathy…
TRIAD of Union Parish mourns the loss of charter member Louise Jones of Marion. Miss Louise passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, in Farmerville. Services, held Friday, October 31, at the First Baptist Church of Marion, were attended by a multitude of family and friends – all of whom were deeply touched by just having known her. A lady of deep spiritual conviction and love for her friends and community, Miss Louise attended her last Marion TRIAD meeting three weeks ago. She would have soon celebrated her 94th birthday. Her absence will be deeply felt but her contribution to our organization will never be forgotten. The good Lord now has another angel in His midst…
THANK YOU! A special Thank You to all those who helped with “Make a Difference Day.” The annual celebration was enjoyed by the residents of Farmerville Nursing Center, Arbor Rose, Timberlake Nursing Center, Tri-Ward Hospital, and Bernice Nursing Center.
CHRISTMAS PARTY The annual TRIAD Christmas party will be held at Claiborne Electric on Friday, December 5. We will have a traditional pot-luck lunch and TRIAD will provide the turkey. The entertainment will be provided by Charles Martindale, a retired pastor from West Monroe. We will discuss the party further at each of our TRIAD meetings in November.

YOUR MOUTH CAN MAKE YOU HEALTHY
There are things that you can do to improve your dental health. People don’t realize how important the mouth is to ones general health. 1. Have your teeth cleaned by a professional at least twice a year. Make sure a periodontal exam is done. 2. Brush well and often. Some experts think that motorized toothbrushes are more effective than manual ones. 3. Floss regularly. Most gum problems start between the teeth. One dentist said, “Just floss the teeth you want to keep.”
HOW CAN YOU HELP TRIAD? 1. Invite others to join us. Ask a friend to a meeting or bring a friend by the office for coffee. 2. Help distribute commodities every month. You can ride along to an outlying site or carry boxes to cars. 3. Teach TRIAD members a skill or a new hobby. Do you scrapbook or make furniture or paint? Others might like to learn these things. 4. Call a shut-in or someone you haven’t talked to in a while. Those who can’t get out enjoy hearing from a friend.

SIX WISE WORDS FOR LIVING WELL Find someone to share your time. Exercise your body, mind, and spirit. Be a fountain, not a drain. You are responsible for your happiness. Give out love; get it back. Don’t assume that you know best.
